CityLights is a 2014 Indian Hindi drama film directed by Hansal Mehta starring Rajkummar Rao and Patralekha in the lead roles. The film is a remake of the BAFTA nominated British film Metro Manila (2013).
Story: The story of the film is about a poor farmer from Rajasthan coming to Mumbai in search of livelihood.
Deepak Singh (Rajkummar Rao) was an ex army person and owned a small garment shop in a Rajasthani village. When his life struck by a tragedy, he migrates to Mumbai, with his wife (Patralekha) and daughter. With the help of a friend of his wife they finds shelter in an under-construction building for a short time after wandering for 2-3 days on road. He remains unsuccesful in finding job. His wife, with the help her friend unwillingly takes up the job as a bar dancer. Deepak after a long struggle gets job at a security bureau.

The film marked actress Anwita Paul's debut; known by her screen name Patralekha. As Paul was in a relationship with the lead actor Rao, the production house did not disclose her name until the film's trailer was released. When press kept questioning about the film's lead actress, the filmmakers always dismissed the question by calling her a "new girl from FTII".
